The New Carlisle Farmer’s Market opening day was a success. We had a great turn out and a lot of fun. We want to thank Hank101.5 FM for coming out and doing a live broadcast. Thanks to everyone who came out and all of our vendors.

This Saturday July 1 is our 2nd week of the market. Come out and get some fresh produce and bake goods, eat lunch and shop all of our booths.

Again this week we will have 2 food vendors cooking up some delicious food. One of our new vendors is Spicey Rooster. Spicey Rooster is a local family business that caters many types of food and offers custom designed menus for each individual customer. Spicey Rooster is also a rapidly growing hot sauce and barbecue sauce company that offers all natural and gluten free gourmet sauces with no preservatives. This Saturday, weather permitting; they will be serving grilled chicken gyros and Cajun and barbecue chicken sandwiches. They will also have their locally famous rooster balls. They will be right in front of Abe’s Hidden Treasures on the Main St. side.

We will also have 2 bake good vendors this week. One of our new vendors is Taste of Sugar Bakery. They are a fully licensed in home bakery and offer regular and gluten free baked goods. A variety of items such as jams, granola, muffins, cake pops, cookies, cakes, cupcakes, cheesecakes, dessert bread, rolls, pies, and fudge/candies will be offered each week. Each week they will offer different specials. They deliver for a fee up to 60 miles. Taste of Sugar Bakery started out in 2016 as Kayke Pops solely concentrating on making cake pops, and decided to rebrand and widen their variety of goods. Their website is www.tasteofsugarbakery.com and you can find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/tasteofsugarbakery. Their booth is located right in front of the New Carlisle News.

Another vendor at the Market is Trunks to Treasures. They like to introduce exiting products from re-purposed items. They enjoy working with recycled glass such as wine, spirits, water bottles etc. They turn these into wind chimes, lights and hummingbird feeders. Trunks and Treasures also like to recycle reclaimed wood like skids and old fencing into fun signs and furniture. Each item is uniquely different. Please visit their Facebook page at Trunks to Treasures to see some of their other items. Their booth is right in front of Waterbed Shop on the corner of W. Jefferson and 235.

Hope to see you at the New Carlisle Farmer’s Market this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Main Street downtown.
