Cub Scout Pack 220 was at the New Carlisle Cemetery on Saturday morning helping to clean up brush and trash.
“We needed to look at a religious memorial,” said Cubmaster Richard Carnes. “Conservation is key to Cub Scouts. This seemed like a great way to fulfill both areas.”
Carnes said that he is always looking for ways the pack can perform service to the community. When a neighbor told him about fallen tree limbs at the cemetery, he knew that was the project they wanted to do.
“A week before Memorial Day seemed like the right time to do it,” said Carnes.
After their work was completed, the boys marched to Arrow Queen for a reward for work well done.
Pack 220 is sponsored by the First United Methodist Church of New Carlisle.
