Want a place to voice your opinions? Everything seems so confused in the world—drugs all over, hatred on TV—and the scare over immigration. But what about the good in our local community? What about the mobile food pantry, the mentors that faithfully go each week to the middle and high school to meet with their special youth, and what about those youth who have volunteered to be a peer listener and work with the middle school kids? How about the farmer’s market and the October festival?

If you are interested in any of the above—YOU are invited to THE BREAKFAST CLUB at FYI. Held every other Wednesday at 7:30 – 8:30 am at the FYI conference room. Those involved are local residents who care about our community—and all the residents in it. The topics vary—from the youth and how to keep them in the community, to the community gardens; from the drug abuse problem, to how do we make this community better. It is a quirkly club—you bring your own coffee and we will supply a little food and a great discussion. Family and Youth Initiatives’ mission is “Educating Families/ Strengthening Communities” and that we try to do at each one of the breakfasts. The next one is Wed. March 15—7:30 am at FYI. Bring you cup of tea or coffee and be ready to either listen or state your opinion. We will be ready for you!! Call 845-0403 and ask for Pat for more information.
