New Carlisle Church of the Brethren welcomes Jim McCutcheon to share his talents with the community on March 4, 2017. Jim is an artist-in-Residence in Guitar from the University of Dayton. He also serves as president of the Dayton Classical Society and Guitar Advisor to the National Federation of Music Clubs.

Mr. McCutcheon holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Dayton as well as Bachelor of Music degree in Guitar Performance and a Masters in Music in Education from Wright State University where he also teaches.

Mr. McCutcheon has earned an award from Wright State University for the first Distinguished Music Alumni Award in 1992 and has received several awards for composition for guitar from the Montgomery County Arts and Cultural District and the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs. He has also received numerous awards from Ohio Arts Council Artist Project grants.

Jim’s love of music and children lead him to creating a CD for children called “The Guitar Man” and “A Day with the Guitar Man.” He has also released two more CD’s for adults titled “The Spice of Life” and “Moscow Nights.” These CD’s earned him an award from the Parents Choice Silver Award.

McCutcheon Music was started by him and his wife Debbie as a teaching facility in 1988 and it has grown into a business with a staff of over 45 teachers, a full-time repair shop, and an instrument rental program that serves many school systems in the Dayton area.

This is a night of performance you do not want to miss! Jim is a highly educated and an outstanding performer which will inspire your children and many adults who share in the love of music!

Our evening performance begins at 7:00pm at the Church of the Brethren, 219 North Main Street. This concert is free and open to the public, however during intermission a “free will offering” will be accepted as donation to our guest performer. Refreshments will be served during intermission for a nominal cost. Please mark your calendar for Saturday, March 4, 2017 and invite your friends and family to listen to this wonderful music from such an accomplished performer.
