Finnegan copySpring brings visions of flowers bursting forth and warm breezes returning to our area. This year spring also brings a bit of Irish mischief as the search for Finnegan the Leprechaun comes to the New Carlisle area.

Finding Finnegan is a program designed and sponsored by the National Trails Parks and Recreation District. The feisty little Leprechaun has decided he will be paying a visit to our area and with some simple weekly clues. Your goal is to seek out his hiding place and hopefully find his pot of gold.

Beginning on February 23, Finnegan will be hiding in our area. Your goal is to find him, snap a photo with him in the background and then enter the drawing to get his pot of gold.

Finnegan will be moving every Monday for four weeks and if you can find his hiding place, you can enter the drawing each of those weeks.

You can send a photo to NTPRD by tagging them on Facebook (National Trail) or by emailing your photo with Finnegan to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Each photo will count as one entry for the drawing which is planned for the week of March 21.

Clues will be released weekly. Additional clues can be found for Enon and Springfield on the NTPRD website. Finnegan is sure to please youngsters of all ages as he pops around Clark County.

If you are one of the lucky ones to find his pot of gold, you might just find yourself featured in the New Carlisle News too.
