The Springfield Youth Orchestras feature young musicians representing 50 schools from an eight-county area. Two of those performers are Tecumseh sophomores Rachel Bailey and Gwendolyn Chappell.

In addition to their commitment to the Springfield Youth Symphony, both girls are active in the music program at Tecumseh performing with the Tecumseh Marching Arrows, the Pep Band, Wind Ensemble, and the musical pit orchestra. Chappell also performs with the Jazz Band and Live Wire, an ensemble within the Springfield Youth Orchestra. She is part of a clarinet quartet.

These ensembles perform at various churches, retirement homes, and events throughout Clark County.
