At the October 18, 2017 meeting of the Clark County Commissioners, the commissioners authorized a contract with Courtview Justice Solutions Inc. DBA for $209,816.68 for a case management system effective October 18, 2017 for the Clerk of Common Pleas Court. The contract was for the purchase of software for the Clerk’s office. An Ohio Supreme Court Technology Grant paid for the software. The Clerk’s Office hopes to have the new software implemented by March 2018.

For Building and Grounds, the commissioners modified the contract S&L Specialty Contracting, Inc. First, they decreased the contract with by $11,284 because the surface applied muntin bars were removed from the contract for the Courthouse windows. Second, they then increased the contract by $5,848.73 to provide and install a Marvin Window that matches the adjacent window on the AB Graham Building.

For the County Engineer, the commissioners authorized two agreements that will pay for the improvement of Urbana Road between Tremont City Road and Willow Road. The first agreement is with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for 25% of the cost up to $100,000 to cover the cost of the road. The second agreement is with the State of Ohio, Development Services Agency for 70% of the cost up to $275,000.

In addition, the commissioners purchased the right of way from Andrew V. Cure for $5,400 for the Croft Road construction project.

For Community and Economic Development, the commissioners authorized a decrease in the contract with A&B Asphalt Corporation by $28,994.79 because the contingencies that were included in the original contract and not all of the estimated asphalt quantities were not used.

For the Veterans Service Commission, the commissioners authorized the purchase of a 2018 Hyundai Sonata from Jeff Wyler for $22,000 to transport veterans to the Dayton VA Medical Center for appointments.

In regular business, the commissioners approved a payment of $160,241 to S&L Specialty Contracting for the window replacement project for the A.B. Graham Building and the Courthouse.

They also re-appointed Mike McDorman to the Board of Directors of the Clark County Convention Facilities Authority for a term to expire November 1, 2021.

In addition, they set the date and time for a public hearing to vacate Carolyn Drive, Jerry Lane and Shirley Drive for November 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. David Van Scoyk requested the vacation of the streets.

County Administrator Jennifer Hutchinson announced that the Clark County Dog Wardens Office would hold an open house on October 26, 2017 at 4:00 p.m.

The next meeting of the Clark County Commissioners is scheduled for October 25, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Conference Room at 50 E Columbia Street.
