At the May 10, 2017 meeting of the Clark County Commissioners, Building and Grounds Director Mike Swank reported that the renovation project for the Clark County Courthouse and the A.B. Graham is on schedule and within budget. He said, “The exterior renovation on the Courthouse is almost complete. We are ready to begin the work on the exterior of A.B Graham.” He added that as soon as the brick work is complete, work will begin to replace the windows. After windows are done, work will begin on the HVAC systems. He added, “We may make some changes to layout of the A.B. Graham to make it more efficient. There are also issues that we need to address with the security system in the A.B. Graham because of the courthouse in the basement.”

Transportation Director Scott Schmid of the Transportation Coordinating Committee asked the commissioners to authorize an Inter-governmental Agreement between the State of Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Clark County Commissioners that proves urban transportation planning and programs from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2019. He said, “This agreement is the vehicle through which funding is provided to the TCC. This agreement is a two year renewal of an agreement that has been in place since 1964.

The commissioners also authorized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Board of County Commissioners and the Logan-Union-Champaign Regional Planning Commissioner to provide rural transportation planning and programs to Logan and Champaign Counties from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2019. The TCC will provide planning and staff for Logan and Champaign Counties for two years.

For the Department of Job and Family Services (DJFS), the commissioners approved a contract with Tecta America Zero Company, LLC for $49,995 for standard and emergency roofing repairs from May 10, 2017 through May 10, 2018.

In regular business, the commissioners approved a contract with Clark Schaefer Hackett for $87,000 to audit county records from January 30, 2017 through June 30, 2017.

The commissioners also approved changing the regular Wednesday, July 26, 2017 commission meeting to Tuesday July 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will be held during the Clark County Fair in the Arts and Crafts Building at the Clark County Fairgrounds.

In addition, the commissioners instructed the clerk to advertise for bids for the 2017 Sewer Rehabilitation project. The bids are due in the office on June 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

Finally, they approved a payment to the Humane Society Serving Clark County for dog pound services provided in April 2017 for $6,666.67.

The next meeting of the Clark County Commissioners is scheduled for May 17, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. in the Clark County Commissioners Conference Room at 50 E Columbia Street.
