Sheriff Gene Kelly, Clerk of Common Pleas Court Ron Vincent and County Commissioner David Herier have lost their bids for re-election.

Former Deputy Deb Burchett took over 54% of the vote to become our new Sheriff. Challenger Melissa Tuttle took 61% of the vote and Lowell McGlothin took nearly 55% of the vote.

Both Kelly and Vincent have been in office for decades.

“This is unbelievable,” said Burchett. “Citizens of Clark County are ready for a change, and that’s why they voted the way they did.” Burchett was very thankful for the support she has received.

State Representative Kyle Koehler retains his seat in Columbus after receiving over 60% of the vote.

“I believe the voters recognized that I work very hard to represent the 79th district,” said Koehler. “Even those who disagree with me know that I listen and treat everyone with respect.”

Koehler also said that he is humbled by the opportunity to serve in the Ohio House.

In National races, Clark County went for Trump, Portman and Davidson.
