At the October 5, 2016 meeting of the Clark County Commissioners, the commissioners approved changes to two road construction contracts for the County Engineer. First, they approved an increase of $5,337.22 to the contract with Double Z Construction Company, Inc. for the Derr Road construction project.

They also approved a decrease of $246,605.37 for the contract with R.B. Jergens for the Lower Valley Pike Road Construction Project to reflect actual construction costs.

For the Coroner’s Office, the commissioners authorized a contract with Storer Mortuary Transport for removal and transport of bodies. The cost for removal and transport to Springfield Regional Medical Center is $100 per removal; the cost is $110 per removal to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. The contract is effective January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.

For the Department of Job and Family Services (DJFS), the commissioners approved a contract with Mental Health Service for Clark and Madison Counties, Inc. for $150,000 to provide on-site child therapist services for the Clark County Child Advocacy Center under the Victims of Crime Act Grant from October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2017.

For the Board of Developmental Disabilities, the commissioners approved the appointment of Robert Strasser and the reappointment of Carmen Miesse to the Board of Development Disabilities for terms ending December 31, 2020.

For the Humane Society, the commissioners approved a contract with the Humane Society Serving Clark County, Inc. for $78,753.76 to provide shelter services from September 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016.

For the Sheriff’s Office, the commissioners approved the sale of the canine Yari to Deputy Johnny Lemen for $1.00. Both Lemen and Yari are retiring from the Sheriff’s Department.

The next meeting of the Clark County Commissioners is scheduled for October 12, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Conference Room at 50 E Columbia Street.
