The City of New Carlisle will be offering free leaf pickup to residents this fall.  Residents will need to follow a few guidelines when preparing the leaves at their home.

Leaves should be raked into the street no more than two feet from the curb.  This will free up the drainage along streets.

Be sure to check your leaf debris and remove all rocks, twigs and other garden materials. The city equipment cannot handle branches and other items, only leaves.

Vehicles should not be parked along the street during collection weeks. Vehicles parked on dry leaves run the risk of causing a fire.

Leaves should not be placed on the street any sooner than one week prior to the scheduled collection day.

Northwest collections will be the week the week of November 23rd.

Southwest will have pickup this week and again the week of November 30th. Northeast pickup one is the week of November 9th and again the week of December 7. The final area is the Southeast with pickup the week of November 16th and again December 14th.

Anyone from the city can drop off leaves at the rear of the building located at 600 West Madison Street. Only residents may drop off leaves until December 21.

If you elect to place leaves in trash totter or yellow bags from Waste Management the trash hauler will collect those items properly disposed of. Leave them at the curb on your normal trash day. Only the yellow bags will be accepted. Recycling containers should not be used for leaf matter.
